Fused magnesia-alumina spinel, using alumina and high purity light-burnt magnesia as main starting materials, fusing in electric arc furnace and cooled, is a new kind of high purity synthesized refractory raw material.
Fused magnesia-alumina spinel is characterized by high bulk density, good thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. It is testified that, addition of fused magnesia-alumina spinel can improve the slag resistance and thermal shock resistance of refractory products, fabricated parts and monolithic refractories. The fused magnesia-alumina spinel is main used to produce high grade magnesia-alumina brick, high performance magnesia-alumina castables, sliding nozzles, lining brick for ladle, slide plate for continues casting, nozzle block and roof brick for open hearth which cam improve the thermal shock resistance. It is the ideal material to replace magnesia-chrome refractories. |
